"The Go-Betweens became a four piece, adding bassist Robert Vickers to the band. With McLennan moving to guitar, the band sound much fuller than before, and Forster’s material is more conventional, forgoing jerky new wave in favour of more conventional pop, although his material is still more frac..."  [+]  Reply

"One of the essential conscious hip-hop albums. KRS-One's lyric's toe the line between corny and insightful, but they come across as honest and earnest due to his young age at the time and the circumstances surrounding the death of the other member of BDP, Scott La Rock. "I compare Counting Crows to a Hard Candy. You can spin it, twirl it, bite it, and it will still taste sweet, but ultimately it will stubbornly keep its shape and form. Counting Crows 4th album sounds much like anything that came before. Of the four, it is the most glazed with a pop coating throug..."  [+]  Reply

"The working men and tune crafters march on. They're not aiming for the moon here, just aiming for the crowds and the ones they have converted. Would appeal to one who misses Oasis and Blur and wouldn't mind hearing a guitar band from across the Atlantic."  Reply

"Very underappreciated band. This is my favourite album of theirs. They've written some real feel-good rock anthems. This one contains two of the best of them - Seven Days In The Sun and Buck Rogers."  Reply

"I did not get the music of this band at all. A mix of Johnny Cash, Dylan, and Elvis Costello. The vocals were lazy and dreamy, but most of the songs were not very cool."  Reply
