"A great neo-prog album that gets ambitious, but stays mostly well mannered. There is the full side single cut, which holds together well and a nice collection of other great Spock-ish stuff to keep it company."  Reply

"Sometimes I just can't believe that such a good old-school type of rock band could ever come out of my province. This record just blow my mind. A fun view into Quebec. So much potential... Grade: A- (90/100) Great"  Reply

"The title track and "Arc of Bar" are great, but the rest seems to be really lacking creativity. It feels like stuff I've heard before from 4 King & Country, and even they aren't the most innovative band around. Japandroids = Canadian 4 King & Country, but minus the fact that 4 King & Country are ..."  [+]  Reply

"Beatopia throws out indie pop conventions left and right! Songs get loud, they crescendo in actually rewarding ways, they distort and feedback and then sometimes they go into hyperpop. See You Soon, the perfect pair, Talk, Lovesong, Don't get the deal are favourites, but really there's not a sing..."  [+]  Reply

"I won’t always admit how much I like this record, but it’s a surprisingly good effort from not yet Disco-tainted Stewart. The rockers (“Hot Legs,” “You're Insane,” “Born Loose”) really rip, and the ballads, while at times cheesy, are mostly strong. The best song may be “You Keep Me Hangin' On,” t..."  [+]  Reply

"I was kind of worried about this album to be honest, as Cage is one of my favourite bands, but I was really happy with this. I love how Cage the Elephant can have a different sound for every album but still sound like it belongs in their discography. It is vastly different from the lo-fi producti..."  [+]  Reply
