I wasn't aware Parsnip released their debut album. Thanks for that, I'll check it out. I haven't heard any of this week's new releases yet but I'm looking forward to hearing what the Tones And I debut is like.

Lana's best work (but then that's not really saying much), but it still doesn't come close to the long awaited Tool release.
Compositionally, this could be Tool's most impressive release. I didn't know if they were capable of putting out coherent, nonrepetetive songs at over 10 minutes, but they sure have, and kudos for doing so. Clearly, they were going to express themselves according to their vision rather than worrying about whether even their own fans, let alone the masses, would appreciate it. Extra points for artistic integrity... and the compositional chops to be able to pull it off.

Fear Inoculum easily, although NFR is a really solid release from Lana. I was never a big fan of Bon Iver and their newest certainly didn't convert me after first 2 listens. Have yet to listen to Parsnip, I have high expectations!
But for real, a whole lotta people online have been shitting on new Tool, in hope of being even more edgy than Tool fans, with no real arguments to support it. I guess the bigger the release, the more "real" music lovers get triggered. _________________ Finally updated the overall chart
