I enjoyed this album a fair bit to be honest, simply out of reverence for Danny Carey if nothing else. Sonically and in terms of ability, this is some incredible work, very experimental and playful. It's not really an album per se, more so a collection of jam sessions but it's so spacey and so good - the best analogy I can make to it's progressiveness is that it is akin to a Flying Lotus-type deal except with rock. And it does tie in elements from metal days, some more electronic, even folk sounding but it all adds up together to make a pretty rich and diverse experience. Another irrational liking of mine, I suppose.

Very interesting and unusual record. What it lacks in structure and focus it re-gains in its lovely sound and contemporariness.
