I didn’t expect to be saying one of my favourite things this year had the word “tumor” in it, yet here we are. I’m gonna make reference to Actress again because it’s another case of samples being cut finely with an X-ACTO knife and put together in a subtly different way.
Best track: Cherish. I love the thought of someone accidentally putting this on a compilation of slow jams, and the awkward night of sex that would ensue.

Serpent Music looks for an empty corner of expressiveness in the crowded world of contemporary hi-tech music. There's a bit of everything: field recordings, vapor echoes, loops, but none of them is incisive enough to sound characteristic. Expext for one elemt: the erotic sweaty atmosphere emerging in the two best songs, The feeling When You Walk Away and Cherish. Here I can really distinguish a poetics, or at least a personality. These are two really good tracks, but the rest of the album is insubstantial.
I hope he will insist on his potentiality in the future: his track on the "Mono No Aware" compilation by PAN is actually gorgeous!
