Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.5/100, a mean average of 75.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.1.

I have never heard Doors live album, so this was a big surprise, as the band was louder, more brutal, and way more energetic than on their studio albums. There are even fine GUITAR SOLOS!. A must-listen for everybody!

All the tracks were edited from live performances in 1970. The Doors Bright Midnight have released all those performances. Detroit and New York are very good releases. Others include Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Boston, Vancouver & L.A. all from 1970 which are worth getting as well.

Amazing Live Album! My heart stopped when he screamed during 'This is the End'. Love it!

This record blew me away first time I heard it. Their studio stuff really doesn't compare to the Doors live.

The Doors and L.A. Woman are definitely their best albums, but in my opinion, this Live Album should be up there in their Top 3!
I was literally tripping listening to this album. Jim Morrison was incredible! His hypnotic voice, his interaction with the audience.... He sang The End to wrap up the concert, and it was a 17min TRIP! It's like an emotional roller coaster... You're drifting away one min and his scream draw you right back in immediately. There are moments in this song that both me and my husband would look at each other and say 'Holy $hit!'! My husband was sober and he was tripping! It's just brilliant!!

A great display of what the Doors were and were capable of, and highly, highly recommended for any Doors fan. There are other albums available which contain these recordings and more, which are a wiser investment; on vinyl, this is the way to go, though.

No doubt the version of Celebration of the lizard on this album is the greatest thing The Doors ever did.
