Nothing terribly new from Ariel Pink. Same solid songwriting, sound, and versatility.
This is a weird one. One minute is pop, the other is dream pop and the next one is death metal and the next one is psychedelia. It's a weird experience and it has some weak songs (even Pom Pom had them), but it's virtues are greater than it's flaws.
I just worry that he's getting too comfortable with being "radical".
Loses some steam on the second half but it's still a good album that displays some of Ariel's virtues as a songwriter. I really liked the hook-y "Feels Like Heaven" as well as the noisy and very mantra-based "Time to Live". Solid record. It's fun.
