This band has the honour of the best band name origin story in the history of band name origin stories. Based on an early 20th century anti-humanist organisation called the Sleepytime Gorilla Press, their music is equally strange and incredibly accomplished. They even invent their own instruments (one of which is tastefully named The Sledgehammered Dulcimer).
