Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 80.1/100, a mean average of 79.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.6.

Big K.R.I.T. comes through with one of the best hip hop albums of the decade. And that's no small feat, as the 2010s saw hip hop's meteoric rise to prominence. I love hearing the contrast of the introspective vs. fun on each disc.

Even with a lackluster track or two, the sum of the parts is one of the most exhilarating, fleshed out and thought-provoking pieces of music of this generation. A monument to how beautiful music can be.

Oh my god, this is genius
Big KRIT's best album, it is an album that grows on you a lot and doesn't seem long for a double album.
"UNDERRATED" as "CLASSIC" are terms too used today to talk about rap. I do not use these terms for nothing and if there is a rapper that I consider "underrated", it's Big K.R.I.T. We all remember Andre 3000's legendary "The South got something to say" at the 1995 Source Awards, and today the South, and more specifically the Atlanta trap, has become the dominant rap region. Big K.R.I.T. does not come from Atlanta and does not made trap musik. But this is difficult to sound more "Dirty South" than Big K.R.I.T. The Mississippi rapper is back in 2017 with his first independent album, "4Eva Is A Mighty Long Time" ... a double album! The first record is entitled "Big K.R.I.T.", he made raw Dirty South with the legendary TI, UGK, Cee-Lo, Sleepy Brown or Organized Noize, this is following by a second most musical and personal record mixing soul, gospel and jazz influences in which Justin Scott unveils the man behind the rapper. K.R.I.T fought and got up after the two failures at Def Jam. He is not in the place where he should be and he gives everything he has to make up for his mistakes. When are we going to realize that he is the best rapper in the South since André 3000?
9/10
Best track: "Price Of Fame"
I wish this album would get more attention
Midcareer classic. Definitively did not see that coming from big Krit. Excellent double LP with nice production and lyrics

Probably my fave album of 2017. Those last four tracks are incredible

This is an interesting approach to a double-disc collection. Disc 1 is the kind of stuff he's known for, namely self-promotion and booming bass (there's another installment in his series of songs about subwoofers). Disc 2 is more personal and earnest. So you can decide which K.R.I.T. you want; there's strong tracks on both discs.
Favorite tracks: (1) Confetti, Get Up 2 Come Down; (2) Miss Georgia Fornia, Price of Fame

Fuck, this shit is solid man. Good contender for rap album of the year.
