Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.2/100, a mean average of 77.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.4.

Essential if you really want to understand Mike's music. While the production is obviously pretty weak, it does have it's charm. Deeply personal and revealing and it took a lot of courage to come out with this. But it also comes off as therapeutic. Throw this on at a house party and watch people's reactions haha

The album has a unique sound however that doesn't mean that it's any good. Each song is indistinguishable from the last one and completely forgettable.
Except "Learning", that is the only redeeming factor. Anyone that likes this song needs to hear The National's cover of it. Brilliant.

Mr. Peterson and Learning are heartbreaking little songs, but the album as a whole feels a tad rough and inconsistent.

The world's introduction to the Perfume Genius. Whilst not as cohesively structured as 'Put Your Back N 2 It it' is nonetheless a touching collection of songs that ends all too quickly as well as being a foretaste of what he can deliver.
