I’m new to this artist. The slower tracks are lovely and remind me of some Sigur Ros tracks. The poppier it gets, the less I enjoyed it. Nothing here really grabbed my attention or made me want to listen again.

MASTERPIECE, thats it.

Incredible stuff. I've realized I need to check out more Perfume Genius based on this record.

Falls just short of the ludicrously high bar set by "No Shape". Mike's music is still evolving, which has been an incredible thing to witness so it's absolutely worth listening to. I LOVE the all out overpowering moments like "Describe" and "Some Dream", and "Nothing at All" hits such a swagger and stride how can you not love it. But there is a nice variety of sounds and emotions to indulge in. It's great to hear "On the Floor" when I'm at starbucks, but I can't help but wonder why of all Mike's songs that has become the one that gets the attention. Moonbend stands out as a bit of a risky move, but it is well executed and although it may sometimes be a skip from me I can really appreciate it nonetheless. I had to look up the lyrics on Jason to figure out what he was saying at the end but it's pretty hilarious and I salute him. The occasional references to his past are handled with grace and forgiveness, and I'm loving him even more in these moments. I can still never figure out how exactly he feels or felt about these things, but he has spoken more than enough about it and it's great to see him moving past it with such a healthy attitude.

Literally left no impression on me. Nothing majorly against it, I just didn't find it at all special.

Another fantastic, beautiful album from Perfume Genius. I did like the previous album more but I feel this one still has plenty of room to grow on me.

"Set My Heart On Fire Immediately" is such a lush intimate work. Hadreas puts such emotion into every song. I love the reoccurring theme of emotional vulnerability. The climax to this is the gentle "Jason", which describes the encounter with soft vocals and fairy tale harpsichord. "Your Body Changes Everything" is sharp with synths and electric flutes. Unfortunately, I do think the album has some flaws. I do think some of the quieter tracks have less presence. "Borrowed Light" is a weaker closer than I would have hoped. The whole of album is strong enough that I'm glad it opened up to us.

Fantastic album that utilizes multiple different genres to create an emotional roller coaster. From the start, the record goes through changes in tone and style without ever losing its allure.

I need to listen to this album again, might not be getting the whole picture. I do think some songs took me out of the experience and felt a bit dull. However, there are some absolute killer songs on this album (some of the best released this year)

From beginning to end, Perfume Genius' 2020 masterpiece fails spectacularly to capture the imagination with plodding songs and droning lyrics.

Slow, dull, boring, and completely devoid of anything interesting whatsoever, but I suppose that I can buy into the idea that this is supposed to be one of the best albums of 2020...assuming I wasn't aware that any other albums had been released this year. Set this album on fire immediately and bring on the downvotes.
