Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. This album is great, but there are some really boring songs in the middle that break the magic. 8/10.

It is indeed a slow burner that will sink it's teeth into you over time. A gorgeous melding of folk and classic country/americana. Their chemistry together is undeniable. Favorite Songs: Ain't That Fine, See You Around, Overland, Ryland.

After hearing a few songs by them through singles/EPs, I had extremely high hopes for this. While I've enjoyed it so far, it hasn't quite lived up to my expectations. It does however feel like it could be a slow burner, so I'm not sure I should judge it yet, after only 3 listens. Either way these 3 ladies have immense talent and when they harmonize it's absolutely stunning.
