Natalie Prass’ knack for writing ridiculously catchy pop choruses is in full flex on her second record, augmented by the slick soul backing of the Spacebomb house band. What keeps this otherwise doggedly retro affair anchored to the present (and indeed the future) is Prass’ lyrical cunning, her lithe, casual delivery belying the political intent behind them.
Starts out as quite an interesting record but just gets more vanilla the further in you go.
