Superb record. The voice is smooth then angry and passionate. The songs range from gentle ballad to bluesy rock. He understands his music and it sounds so genuine.
Another decent Ray Lamontagne album that expands on the psychedelic sounds he had been exploring on his previous two albums. This one has a slightly harder edge to it and is all the better for it. The sound of Lamontagne's earlier folk/country/blues leanings on his early releases are still very much in evidence and, Part of the light, is another enjoyable addition to a body of work that now encompasses seven albums. Good.
