Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.1/100, a mean average of 76.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.3.

Year of the Snitch is probably the least aggressive Death Grips release thus far (especially compared to their previous release, Bottomless Pit), which is to say it's like an angry old man rather than a hormonal anarchist. Still more aggressive than the average person is willing to put up with. But this album works nicely within the confines of its somewhat brief 37 minutes. Lots of highlights; Death Grips Is Online, Black Paint, Linda's In Custody, Hahaha, Streaky, Dilemma, The Fear, Disappointed. Little Richard is pretty out there, even for Death Grips, but it's still fine. Overall, Year of the Snitch is a career highlight for Death Grips.
i have no idea whats going on but i like it
Another great Death Grips release and even one of their best in my opinion. A lot of the songs individually don't stand out that much, but in the context of the album work great and the album flows really well. It is also some of their more experimental works with great production and interesting sounds. Once you get used to it, it's an amazing listen.

Solid, consistent album. Little Richard is a low point I think but Black Paint, Ha Ha Ha and The Fear are awesome. Might be the best of the year so far.
Interesting production, and I really enjoyed 'Black Paint' and 'Dilemma', but the album as a whole didn't catch me so much...

Death Grips is Online.
Favourite Song: Disappointed
Good album.
B+

Cursed album
This album shows Death Grips attempting to push their sound into a new direction and the results are very successful in that. This is a DG experience unlike any other in their discography. This album feels like one of the most successful blends of the genres that DG had been immersing themselves in since their beginning. Elements of electronic, hip-hop, punk, metal, psych-rock, and kraut-rock merge seamlessly to create a diverse and eclectic sonic palate.
Though lots of the singles didn't really click with me on their own, it only took context for me to understand the direction which they were trying to go. The tracklist flows very smoothly with most songs bridging into one another.
This album always keeps you on your toes wondering which direction it's going to go next and once you've finished it just keeps you coming back for more.
Favourite Tracks: Death Grips is Online, Flies Black Paint, Hahaha, Streaky, Dilemma, The Fear, Disappointed
Least Favourite Track: Little Richard

After only 2 full listens this is already one of my favourite DG albums. Amazing, diverse and unlike anything they've done before. DG Is Online, Flies, Black Paint, Streaky, Dilemma... And that closing track, it's more intense than anything related to hip hop I've ever heard. Experimental rap metal? I sure am buying it.
