Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 64.7/100, a mean average of 63.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 63.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.3.

It’s just so lyrically flat, compared to everything else Panic! has. The songs are all trying to be the single, a great fault.

It was only a matter of time, the Disco has sold out to a generic pop radio, not like it's the first time, but it's definitely the worst, it sucks mega PP

I definitely prefer the Kanye-ish vibes on this album to the unredeemingly garish choruses and unnecessary "Oh-Ohs" I've come to expect from 2010's Panic.
Brendon is finally making the top 40's pop music he always wanted to make, and it results in the most easy to listen to album of his career.
But Ryan Ross still runs circles around Brendon's attempts at lyrics and composition. No risk, no reward, as the saying goes.

Ever had a musical act that you once hated only to ultimately fall in love with ? Mine is Panic At The Disco. My wife was heavily into the early P.A.T.D stuff and around the house I heard plenty of 2005's 'A Fever You Can't Sweat' and 2008's 'Pretty.Odd.' and TBH I found it completely annoying , I literally loathed a song such as "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" ....
Then fast forward 8 years and 2016's crooner masterpiece 'Death Of A Bachelor' happened & some how / some way I gave it a go and completely fell for it's charms going on to be one of THE albums for the 2016 IMO & an album I adore to this day
Lets call 'Pray For The Wicked' for what it is .. a Brendon Urie solo album & its absolutely breathtaking !!! . A compendium to 'Death ..' 'Pray' is bombastic , flamboyant and pulses with energy from whoa to go . I particular love the anthemic tracks in "Say Amen" , "High Hopes" and "The Overpass" and the closing ballad "Dying In LA"
Bloody hell !!! He's followed one masterpiece with quite possibly another one
Pray For The Wicked as of 03/07/18 is the best album in 2018
75 Sweet Hooks Out Of 100
I notice a lot of music critics across the internet tearing this album apart but I actually liked this one better than Death Of A Bachelor. Granted, sometimes I just like music that gets stuck in my head and Hey Look Ma, I Made It and Roaring 20s do so better than anything on DOAB. In addition, Dying In LA has cliche lyrics but I find myself forgiving it as I'm a sucker for ballads. Nothing will ever compare to A Fever You Can't Sweat Out but this one is still very enjoyable for me as a Panic fan. If you're not a Panic At The Disco fan, you may not like this as much. You've been warned.

Diet Death of a Bachelor. It has some high points, and some pretty steep lows (particularly in the frustratingly forgettable lyrics). Overall, it's not groundbreaking like early Panic!, it's not dismissable like the middle albums and it's not the breath of fresh air surprise that Bachelor was. But it's fun, and that its most endearing quality
