One of the first jazz albums I've heard where the percussion-only sections are truly musically interesting and pleasing. Usually drum solos and the like don't do it for me, but these are really layered, complex, and interesting. And then the horns and keyboards and stuff are excellent as well. Great and innovative modern jazz
