Kiss Each Other Clean is everything I love about Beam--catchy melodies and powerful imagery--run through the studio ringer until the substance is obscured by the polish. I would love to hear the demo versions of these songs, because I imagine they're fantastic. As it is, I really struggle with all the additional instrumentation (saxophones?!) and vocal dubs.

It's still my least favorite Iron And Wine album, but it's grown a ton on me. One of my absolute favorite current artists.

Here's another former "lo-fi" artist who has since embellished his work masterfully in the studio. i like the horns, especially the spazzy-jazzy horns at the end of "2011 best track" long-play nominee "your fake name is good enough for me", or the playful horns in "big burned hand".
Great voice and better playing. It is simple but enjoyable. Mostly on acoustic guitar although not entirely. Walking Far From Home is a good song and Me and Lazerus too. Check them out.

Easy going and effective for a nice Sunday afternoon, definetely not his best work but still enjoyable.
