Great songwriter. A bit monotonous at times perhaps

As his later stuff has become more heavily produced it has lost some of the magic his earlier albums captured, but on the basis of those earlier albums alone he is an amazing songwriter and artists. His layered vocals are reminiscent of the harmonies of Simon & Garfunkel. His magical imagery and the emotion conjured in the simplicity of his lyrics are in the vein of Cat Stevens. Songs like Passing Afternoon, The Trapeze Swinger and Upward Over The Mountain are able to caption feelings we would otherwise be unable to articulate. Check this guy out.
