This is a positively marvelous collection of standards, all given a very fresh, fun, and delightfully treatment by the always distinctive and lively Red Garland. Along with the impeccable base of Paul Chambers and the wonderfully swinging drum kit of Art Taylor, Garland's unique chord voicings lay an excellent foundation for his right hand flights of fancy and creative melodicism. What could have been just another collection of old war horses instead is a fresh and lively swinging trio date that never gets ol.
