Maybe you've been thinking all this time that Arequipa, Peru somehow never managed to produce an epic-sounding shoegaze band worth listening to, but if so, you'd be wrong. Admittedly, Orquídea doesn't register highly in the vocals department, which is probably why they've mixed the vocals down to "barely audible" for this album, but hey, it's shoegaze! You're supposed to do that anyway, and everything else here sounds great. (Still, maybe you should just think of this as an instrumental LP.)
