Here's the thing , I'm not particularly into this new M&S sound or album .. but
(1) Marcus is quoted as saying: "We are really happy with this album , its the album that represents us" . So in other words its the album THEY wanted to make. Kudos for that , good on them (Respect)
(2) It's not the complete car crash some are claiming: opener "42" , track 2 "Guiding Light" , "Woman" , "October Skies" and "Forever" actually go OK and are well worth hearing
(3) In many ways the band were in a no win situation with this album , release 'Sigh No More' Part 2 and cue the back lash. TBH I'm glad they went down the new sound road , I'd much prefer a band to push the boundary's rather than rehash the same sound over and over ALA cookie cutters Foo Fighters
This isn't 'Babel' and wasn't meant to be , don't complain about "No Banjo's" just go and listen to their back catalogue
What happened to the banjo?
