What can you say about Rumours that has not already been said? One of the most beautiful and yet bittersweet collection of songs ever put on record. It's impossible to pick standout tracks because they are all equally good but different to each other. How the record shifts from Chrissy's heartbreakingly wistful performance on "Songbird" and builds thru to Lindsey/John's climatic finish to "The Chain" leaves your head spinning and is undoubtedly one of the finest passages of rock music ever commited to vinyl. I saw this was 34 on the overall chart and thought I'd better give the whole album a spin seeing as I'd only known the songs from radio play. That radio factor is pretty defining here, with nearly every song played endlessly on the airwaves. It is truly the sound of the late 70s. But that shouldn't give it automatic adoration. For me it is far too soft. There is no edge, dare, or real depth to the music. It just sounds nice and is performed by talented musicians. I can understand people's affection for this album but I don't think its ambitious enough, nor progressive enough to place it in the best cluster of albums of all time.

This is my favorite pop/rock album with its bohemian flair that never skirts patronizing. Her voice is the siren song which holds the listener captivated from start to finish. The contents of this are sounds and magic, I think. Seriously though, this is one of the best road trip albums I've incorporated into my driving experience. (Edited)

Fleetwood Mac's classic album, Rumours is one of the greatest pop albums of all time. It seamlessly weaves together popular genres of the time like folk music, rock, and even a touch of baroque to create a melodically immaculate string of songs. The music here brings out moments of sadness, sorrow, but yet at the same time, can be uplifting and reassuring. Rumours serves as a reminder that however low we feel, we are always in control of our lives and we can all choose to go our own ways, whatever that may be.

Breathtaking album, every song on here is an absolute masterpiece. I'm not usually a big fan of 70's pop rock, thinking that's usually too cheesy and vapid. This album is far from vapid dealing with difficult themes like breaking up and loss, and I don't think cheesiness applies to this despite the fact that it isn't exactly a favorite of the youth. The three voices blend perfectly with the excellent rhythm section and guitar. Never Going Back Again is one of my absolute favorite songs and The Chain and Dreams aren't far behind. (Edited)
