Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 80.1/100, a mean average of 78.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.2.

"Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols" is basically the punk rock anthem album. With tracks like "Anarchy in the UK," it's all raw energy and zero apologies. It's like the Sex Pistols grabbed all the anger of the time, turned it into music, and ended up defining a whole genre.
5 Star Record.
For anyone giving this a negative review, are we listening to the same record? The riffs of "Holidays In The Sun", "Bodies", "God Save The Queen", "Problems", and of course "Anarchy In The UK" are some of the best in rock music.

This is pure punk with it being fuelled by aggression making it a thoroughly enjoyable album to listen to especially when you are looking to release some emotion. Johnny Rotten is the main cause of this with his raw and harsh vocal being a standout across this whole release. He delivers the words with such a venom and bite to them which makes us feel everything he sings. This makes it so easy for us to feel his anger and join in with his passion. The riffs are fantastic as well and back up the vocals strongly with the drums adding an additional franticness to the music. This punk chaos culminates on Anarchy In The UK and God Save The Queen which are just two absolute classics of the genre and elevate this album so much. Overall, this is a classic record of the punk genre that has a few weaker tracks but for the most part it loves up to its hype of being one of the purest punk albums that has ever been released.
Tracks 5 and 8 are masterpieces 😎👍🏻

Alright
Hmmmm, just listened to this album for the first time (though I’ve heard bits and pieces before). I’m a big Oasis fan, and I see the major influence Johnny Rotten has had on Liam Gallagher’s vocal style. The Sex Pistols seem to overall be a big influence on Oasis. I’d say Oasis is a mix between the Beatles and Sex Pistols. I now appreciate this album and the Sex Pistols.
Pure punk rock with great tracks: Holidays In The Sun, Anarchy In The UK, God Save The Queen, there are some low points here too, but attitude is always on point.
Johny Rotten is definitely the best thing about this record, one of the most original vocalists for sure alongside Dylan. The band not so much; they just rip off some Chuck Berry riffs on and on like countless bands before them, though Steve Jones has its moments: the riff of God Save the Queen, the opening to Bodies and the mini-solo to EMI, but overall this band is nothing without Johny Rotten, which is why I prefer The Clash, The Ramones, The Damned or Wire.
