While incredibly influential, bollocks never evolves into anything, its really just one style of song.

I remember when this came out and how it created shock waves, it was harsh, crude, a blunt instrument thrown at the music scene. Decades later I still listen to it, but times and trends have softened the edges so it is hardly the statement it was anymore compared to what has come out since and I cannot imagine today’s youth being shocked by it at all. Ignoring the punk aesthetic created by Rotten, Vicious, and McLaren the album is a solid collection of songs which have aged well considering the other bands of their era aside from the Clash.

Cosa si può ancora dire ?! Sono sempre stato riconoscente verso i Sex Pistols per quello che hanno fatto o per lo meno rappresentato ( in questo senso non si riesce nemmeno ad immaginare una musica rock oltre gli anni settanta senza di loro ) ma ancora di più per ciò che hanno impedito ad altri di ( continuare a ) fare. Quindi, anche se musicalmente mi piacciono fino ad un certo punto e comunque non poco, devo loro eterna devozione.

This is punk and cudos for that. Punk has a point or no pioint. It is more a necessary stage toward something more enjoyable. Plus, I prefer the Clash.

This album does still stand up today. EMI, Pretty Vacant, No Feelings and Holidays in the Sun were great in 1977 and they're still great today. Yes the musicianship is a bit basic and the songs have no deep meaning, but for me music is not about listening how brilliantly things are played and how clever the lyrics are, but the effect the melody/riffs harmonies have on your mood. This is basic rock and roll as it should be. Together with the Ramones the Sex Pistols brought back the fun in Rock music. Could do with another musical shot in the arm today....

Influenced so many artists, they didn't give a flying f**k. It's rough around the edges and loud. Pretty Vacant is the best track
