Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.6/100, a mean average of 73.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.6.

Infinity Land is the last of Biffy Clyro's post-hardcore LPs before their shift into alternative rock, and it's also the most melodic and stylistically coherent of the three albums the band released during this era. From raging energy to touching calmness, Biffy Clyro seeks to tell their stories in more accessible ways, without losing their credibility. The rhythms and styles remind me of both hardcore and punk but also funk and grunge.
Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable album, with fine guitar play and great vocals. Most songs are perfectly passable, but there are no big standouts like on earlier records.
After a perfectly fine and interesting first half, something weird happens in the second half. This is where the hardcore influences truly shine through, and there are no enjoyable tracks here. This second half alone sinks the album.

Extremely consistent record, doesn't have my favourite Biffy songs, but never falls short. Jaggy Shake is a piece of brilliant craziness.
Infinity Land is definitely Biffy's best record to the date, just before they decided to leave their Post-Hardcore sound they released this, their craziest, most inventive, experimental and diverse album. Again, me, as a person who HATES screams and Post-Hardcore, can't stop at loving this album, every bit of it, even the ones where Mr. Simon Neil screams as if somebody was freaking torturing him (See There's no such thing as a jaggy snake).
This album is really diverse, flirting with electronic music (The intro of glitter and trauma) and also with reggae (My recovery Injection), the piano song The Atrocity, etc...
Even the track "The weapons are concealed" feels like it could be the opener to some kind of bizarre TV show and yet it still is a great track with lots of energy...
And when you think the album is over, the disturbing "Tradition Feed" starts to sound as a hidden track. This album it's just great, and definitely Biffy's best... and one of the best albums of the 2000's. Totally recommended, although I really recommend to have got into some of Biffy's music before.
Best Track(s): The whole album... although the complete standout is There's no Such Man as crasp/thing as a Jaggy Snake
Worst Track: The Atrocity
Most solid and diverse Biffy Clyro album. I recommend this to everyone who likes the genre. Give it a good listen and you will love it!
