Watch out for Virginia's own catherine the great, a young singer-songwriter emerging at the beginning of their career. They're writing feels brought up on Appalachian traditions, and bring a classic folk chord structure to contemporary lyricism. They're lyrics are some of the finest out there. I particularly love the juxtaposition of word meanings in "just," and the tonal flip of "tomatoes" from where it begins to where it ends. Fantastic songwriting, and hopefully their career can take off.
