Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.1/100, a mean average of 73.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.8.

Free from the grip of the SAW "hit factory", Kylie expressed her creative side on this self-titled record, resulting in the career highlight "Confide in Me" along with many other mature and confident tracks. Sometimes the second-half veers towards "redundant filler", but its decent enough to play from front to back.

Probably her most mature album she has done. Really enjoyed this and need to buy this due to the ninth track is blocked on youtube.

"Kylie Minogue" was Kylie's first album away from the Stock-Aitken-Waterman "hit machine" and represents a shift in a more mature direction. Opener and lead single "Confide in Me" is a beautiful, brilliant trip-hop ballad and second single "Put Yourself In My Place" is a great song that follows in the lead single's path.

The remainder of the album veers off unexpectedly into house territory, with most tracks exceeding five to six minutes in length. Miraculously, this manages to be both daring and tedious at the same time, especially when coupled with the earnest yet plain lyrics offered throughout the 57 minutes. Overall, this record marks a career-defining turn away from manufactured pop into classy dance music, but it wasn't until 97's "Impossible Princess" that Kylie's music became truly great.

I like Kylie especially once she broke away from Stock/Aitken & Waterman. This is my favourite Kylie album Light Years & Fever are also good but I keep coming back to this album. Where is the Feeling & Put Yourself In My Place are 2 of my favourite songs she has ever recorded. Confide In Me, Time Will Pass You By, Where Has The Love Gone & Automatic Love are all 85/100. This is the hidden gem in her catalogue.

Only just good album. Best 10 songs average is 79,8/100 and the album can get only just good 80/100. Best song is "Confide in me" 85/100, followed by "Surrender", "Put yourself in my place", "Where have the love gone?" and "Time will pass you by" all 80/100. All other songs average only.
