An intoxicating, bold and euphoric presence in popular culture who may just be the greatest dance pop artist to ever do it. A fusion of retro, disco cool and energising, metallic, sci-fi futurism. Her discography is unique in its consistent mix of heavenly angelicism and rock-solid body c**t, massive single after massive single brandished with her indelible glamour and charm.

Iconic music videos and fashion moments galore. I still think about that gold dress at Glasto on the regular. Phenomenal talent with phenomenal accessibility. Certified gay icon and unwavering in her support despite how toxic our times are. A standard bearer for what Pop can and ought to be.

You might also be surprised that she was the biggest soap opera star in Australia back in the eighties.

I've just found out she was Australian today! That really took me by surprise. I can't be the only who is surprised.
