Just finding Danny Michel and this is the first album I have heard. A bright and breezy album - good solid album - hearing from the opener Paul Simons Graceland and goes on through some Tom Petty / Beck influences with even perhaps Eels - a good mix of influences. It's not cutting edge but it is a happy album that mixes influences of bands that I do enjoy - all the songs are solid enough with the stand out for me being Binary Star which has a touch of Grandaddy in there and a bit of change of pace compared to the rest of the album.
There is a strong Caribbean feel - whereas Graceland was African - if you don't like Simon's Graceland you won't like this - but if you do then this should be enjoyable
