It is indeed a progressive album without growls, although the first few tracks have some shouting by Åkerfeldt which I don't completely like. When we the album progresses, and especially in the last three songs, the pieces are lovely and contain some interesting novelties with respect to the Opeth sound while not loosing their identity.
