Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 64.6/100, a mean average of 63.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 64.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.4.

Great Vocalist , greater Riff-Master.... but not a good album . The title track is a glimpse of what could have been.

"Trashed" is really the only track I'm able to tolerate. A painful album for listeners and the lyrics are awful.

An interesting detour for one of the greatest bands. Black Sabbath was a great force with multiple singers including Ian Gillan. This album is heavy and short and kicks ass. It doesn’t have that signature hit but it’s sum is greater than its parts.

Sabbath's one album with Deep Purple's Ian Gillian on the mic is a mixed bag. There's some great cuts, but also a lot of filler. It's hard to listen to this album from end to end, but certain cuts are classics.

This is my fav Sabbath album. Gillan seems to have the voice for Sabbath, although I also thinks that about Ozzy & Dio.

Great album, it maybe sounds not like Black Sabbath with Gillan but still damn good. It could be, with a better recording quality, one of their best albums, but the recording and mastering is really horrible.
But the songwriting and riffs are pretty good.

The title track feels like a post apocalyptic dream, the rest feels quite like what they have done in the past and Stonehedge is a nice bit of field recording. The ideas are there but not used to make something spectacular. Overall this is a good album. Enjoyable dark chocolate by one of the best brands... bands? Brands? Bands? Hmmm... it is enjoyable is what I'm trying to say.
