Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 62.8/100, a mean average of 56.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 56.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.7.

This album started with few less good tracks, but as I listed I discovered some good music.
Spotify told me to listen to this, so I did. For the most-part I'm dubious of pop albums that go over 40~ minutes. They can work, but in my experience they tend to drag on. High Road clocks in at 52:15 (16 tracks; BEA doesn't list track 16 "Summer"), so it's not egregiously long, but it would benefit from being shorter, imo.
I wasn't a fan of any of the first 4 tracks. Overblown pop songs with "edgy" lyrics about going out, drinking, having sex, etc. I think it's fair to say at this point that Kesha will never change. I can't say this isn't what I expected anyway, so it didn't really tarnish my impression of the album in general.
I actually found some enjoyment in Shadow, Honey & Cowboy Blues. It's nice to hear something different, even if only slightly so, but High Road ultimately falls back on the "Kesha formula" (I guess you could call it) with songs like Birthday Suit and Kinky, whose titles tell you everything you need to know about them.
Potato Song is a little silly lyrically, but it's kinda fun I guess. By the time BFF starts playing, I'm starting to feel the length of the album, and I actually kinda liked Father Daughter Dance & Summer. I just wish some of the more superfluous tracks (e.g. My Own Dance, Birthday Suit) were gone so my attention wasn't waning by the end. I'd say 11~ tracks at about 40 minutes would've been much more effective.
Anyway I didn't really mean to write this much (or anything at all) about High Road, but there you go. If you take it for what it is, you may find some enjoyment in it, but BEA hates pop so it'll probably get slammed anyway. It has some nice moments, but I will not be in any rush to revisit it.
Oh, also the cover art reminds me of Deep Purple's "Burn".

A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
