2020 marks 24 years since Nada Surf broke through with’Hi/Lo’ and mega single “Popular” and unlike artists who’s album quality deteriorate with time ( I’m looking at you Pixies, Weezer and Green Day) Nada Surf have in 2020 remarkably pulled off one of modern musics great comebacks and released probably their best album in ‘Never Not Together’
The band has rightly matured and so has the music with an album of great assurance and slick production chock full of sweet melodies and guitar hooks that peaks with the extraordinary mid album threesome of “Just Wait” , “Something I Should Do” and the sublime “Looking For You” ( explained by Mathew Caws that whatever you are looking for in life is also looking for you)
No I’m not some Nada Surf fanboy , in fact I haven’t listened to a NS album since 2002’s ‘Let Go’. But I am a music fan and I know a terrific album when I hear it and this one really hits the mark. AllMusic can be hit or miss with it’s reviews but it got this one correct giving it 4.5 Stars
It’s only March 2020 and “Never Not Together” probably won’t stay as my favourite for the year. But you know what? If it did stay as my number one I could totally live with that

Pretty cheesy and mixed without soul. No song has something special that got my attention. It's not bad, but nothing special that I would want to hear a second time. The exeption was "Looking for you" a great song.
