Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 67.8/100, a mean average of 64.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 64.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 24.5.

Album written and played very well with attention to every details...each song is a chapter of a book that Tomplinson wants to open to the public. I feel influences from Oasis and RHCPs and the boy is understimated but he is strong after all the personal past experiences he feels the need to express himself. To be followed with confidence.
Not impressed, less variation.
Former One Direction-member Louis Tomlinson debuts as a solo artist with this Britpop-influenced indie rock record. Trying to repeat the success met by his former colleague Harry Styles, Tomlinson's approach to rock is poppier, slicker and more produced. It never reaches the same raw power or surprising musical content as Style's solo career has done. In that sense, Walls is closer to pop music than Britpop. The problem here is, that while Tomlinson crafts catchy melodies, most of the songs on his debut are forgettable both in terms of music and lyrical content.
When Tomlinson doesn't fall for pop music cliches, he delivers good, singer-songwriter tunes that are easy to listen to and enjoy. Those songs are few and far between, sadly, and the gist of the album contains songs that never reach their full potential.
Some brit pop influence here
