Great background album. At the time, I really enjoyed it. However, it's been hocked to every advertising campaign under the sun, and now I associate it with yuppie booze, cars, and consumer shite. Moby you sell-out. Way to ruin your own work. (Edited)

One of the most incredibly deep albums i know. While some may argue its all just samples. Moby takes the very very best Samples and bundles them together into somthing with meaning. I hate the way how when i mention this album to people they say ''oh Moby, i hate techno'' . Its not techno, its amazing. Best traks: 'Honey', 'Natural blues','Why does my heart feel so bad' and the very best track is the one without vast amounts of sampling= 'Southside'

Very soft album, verging on elevator music at times. Some nice melodies, but too soft and slow for my tastes.

What?
This is Moby's 5th album and explores electronic music mixed with southern gospel and soul in parts. The first 11 tracks are more like a greatest hits package rather than an actual album with no fewer than 8 smash hit home runs in "Honey" , "Run On" , "Bodyrock" , "Why Does My Heart . . ." , "Natural Blues" , "Porcelain" , "Southside" featuring Gwen Stefani and "Find My Baby" . Tracks 12 to 18 Moby pumps the breaks and closes things out with 7 slower atmospheric tracks

Who?
It's Moby AKA Richard Melville Hall New York born and bred , and is still making albums in 2018 . 'Play' remains his masterpiece

Do I Need To Hear This Album?
Absolutely ! 'Play' is one of the best albums from the 1990's and essential for all music fans

You must check out the 8 wonderful videos for the tracks listed above on YouTube. Each one is a mini masterpiece , the one for "Find My Baby" is hysterically funny with a crew of actual babies taking centre stage
