Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.5/100, a mean average of 71.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.9.

Following up 'Play' was always going to be a hard ask. I think he's done an excellent job with this. Many beautifully composed pieces within. Again there's a great tranquility with some added oomph throughout. Top notch album
Another big album list - 18 songs is gonna be difficult to land every one. And that is an issue for me with many highs, a few goods but a couple of songs not doing it for me - Another Woman, Fireworks and I'm Not Worried At All below par for me. But it has some excellent tunes - too many to list
Moby's best album, no weak tracks apart from 'Jam for the ladies' which should have been left off.
This one of the best records Moby ever made. The guest vocalists do an amazing job, and Moby is at his creative and innovative best. What's keeping me from giving 18 a perfect score is the record tends to drift from time to time, and I find myself hitting FF to "get to the good stuff".
That being said, "Extreme Ways" was a very good choice for the producers of the Jason Bourne movies.

Moby en pleine forme après son excellent Play..
Not as focused, or with as many high points as Play.
The best Moby album, under - rated and a brilliant follow up to Play. "One of these Mornings" is simply stunning. This album will grow and grow on you. It may not bite you like Play did but each song will reach out and touch you with every listen. After all these years, this still comes out to play
Showcases Moby's talent and diversity. "In this world", "In my heart" and "Jam for the ladies" are gems.
"One of These Mornings" is quite simply one of the greatest songs ever written. Its a nice album, I think its better than Play, probably because its more cohesive.
