After School Special (studio album) by A-1

A mixture of a Kanye West style and 90's pop culture. I think these are some of the best beats of any hip hop album I've heard in the last five years, but it's hard to tell if it's for real because the entire album is covered in this gigantic nostalgia veil. Seriously, if you fall in the ages of about 20-30, these beats are ridiculous. There's Power Rangers, Pokemon, All That, the Price is Right, Golden Girls, and pretty much anything else under the sun that you might have veg'd out to as a kid/teen. If that's not enough, there are bumpers in between songs where A-1 put in those old commercials like the Charms Blow Pop, SkipIt, My Buddy. It's crazy. What's crazier is that the gimmick doesn't wear old right away because A-1 has a really sick flow which catches you off guard with how talented he really is. Overall, good lyrics, great flow, crazy beats. Highly recommended.
