Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 53.2/100, a mean average of 45.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 45.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 23.0.

Not completely awful but it's so manufactured that I can't stand it. It's evident the singer has a high opinion of himself and likes drugs. The interludes are really not good. WWIII is kinda cool.
Feb 21. So, I went into this with a fair degree of trepidation, both on account of Mr Kelly being a rapper and all the positive press surrounding this. (Most recent albums by artists I like that have received positive reviews have been their worst).
From the opening chords I am put at ease. I actually love the opening 'Title Track'. Such a good topic to address too - how we love to see the success stories fall. The next couple are odes to being young and having fun, or at least appearing to have fun. 'I'll grow up next Summer' are lyrics that a lot of us can still relate to.
Not so keen on all the drug-taking references, but that is just a personal thing. A lot of this is a bit too polished for my tastes too, with some recent Blink-182 sounds, but overall the songs are solid. We get some quoted lyrics from the classic 'Knowledge' (Operation Ivy) on 'All I Know'. 'WWIII' is a short blast of fun. We really did not need the 'interlude'.The closing acoustic track reminded me a lot of 'Motorcycle Drive-by' by Third Eye Blind.
Machine Gun Kelly brings a good deal of cool lyrics that would appeal more to the younger generation, but enough for this boomer to still enjoy. He has a cool way with words actually.
There are more electronic elements than I prefer, but they suit these songs that are very much on the pop side of pop-punk. Still, I enjoyed most of what I heard. If you loved Blink 182's last album, you will love this. I liked it, but not as much as their previous albums, so I liked this. In fact, I liked it more than NINE. None of the songs outstay their welcome, though 'My Ex's Best Friend' did nothing for me.
I am glad Machine Gun Kelly took this on though, and will keep an eye out for more. 3.5/5
This is the worst album I've ever heard.
