Even though Sigur Ros have been active releasing music for various projects (movies and the like) it’s actually been 7 years since they have brought out an album proper so this Jonsi solo effort is a gift for the Sigur Ros fan
The closest current touchstone for ‘Shiver’ would be Perfume Genius with its shared DNA of ethereal brooding music and heart breaking emotional lyrical content supported by a sweet of beautiful videos that are works of art in their own rights
NPR MUSIC turned me onto this album and I’m so glad for their recommendation
