Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.1/100, a mean average of 80.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.0.

This album is highly experimental yet fully exquisite. This is a strong 95, almost 100. All of the songs are unique, complex, consistent yet diverse, and most importantly fresh on the ears. I feel like I have less to say than the normal artist, because Juana Molina is such an oddball of an artist (in the best way) that I have so much less of an ability to describe what I love about her work in words. Truly incredible.
Chilled out folktronica
I really enjoyed her album from ten years back, the more acoustic 'Son'. I finally came around to listening to her more recent stuff just this year and started with this album and am really pleasantly surprised with the direction she has taken and the progression in her music. I expect that this album will grow even further on me.
Breathtakingly beautiful. Never heard anything quite like it before, and probably never will again.
Easily deserves a place on Mecca's chart of albums that seamlessness create their own worlds. Which is why I think everyone is having a hard time describing this album. While at times sounding like a tropicalian Bjork fronting at turns the Silver Apples or loops from Aphex Twins' Selected Ambient Works Vol. II, such a description does not do this justice. I guess this is partly due to the fact that this is better than anything Bjork's done. More natural & unaffected sounding which gives it a certain human warmth whereas Bjork's works have always felt very calculated & studied and thus just a bit icy. Don't get me wrong, I love Bjork. This is just different. It's got rhythm and soul. It beats & pulses. It's very much alive & organic. One of my favorite electronic albums of all time.
Almost as trippy as it is delicately, hypnotically beautiful
I'm sure she had a song which I found fantastic this one time. There isn't a 10/10, golden whale moment on here.
Onedayonedayonedayonedayonedayonedayonedayonedayoneday... and now I will have the song stuck in my head for the next few weeks.
