I really really did not like Coldplay until I heard this album
I had turned my nose up at most of the songs I had heard from there first three albums
HoweverI bought this album after liking viva la vida the single and violet hill as they intrigued me - and I fell in love with the album
The CD came with prospects March (?) EP - which is a masterpiece in its self and which could have been released as a double album
I also now love Rush of blood ..... But I am still not keen on XY and parachutes and I really really really can't stand anything post viva la vida !
So trust me when I say I am not trying to sell Coldplay to you , but do give this album a go !
I just wish Coldplay had continued in the musical direction they were going with this album as they could have made some great records
When I'm listening to this album, and a track begins, I might think "Oh, *this* is my favorite track on the album." But then I realise that that same thought comes up at the start of every track on the album. Just flawless all the way through. (Edited)

This album feels like your dancing through the magical lands that can be sonically possible thorugh this album's unique sound. It solidified Coldplay into one of the greatest bands who have surfaced the 2000s - if the previous three albums weren't enough to get your music buds into frantic rave mode while appearing alternative to your peers. I get that Coldplay is a dirty word but this is a fantastic album all the way through.

I really don't get why so many people hate this album. The songs are beautiful, there are no fillers and one of the producers was Brian Eno. Unfortunately, this was Coldplay's last decent effort before they sank into the mediocrity of mainstream pop music. Still hope that they will go back to their roots in the near future, though I have doubts about it.
