Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.2/100, a mean average of 71.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.2.

Green to Gold is a logical extension to Familiars. And for the most part, it's a welcome return for Peter Silberman after a long hiatus. But for as pretty as this record is, it doesn't hit as hard as it should.

Perfect accompaniment to an Australian winter in Melbourne as we suffer through a 4th COVID lockdown, right now I’m loving the peace this album is bringing to my soul

Pleasant sound. It gently rolls along until, all of a sudden, it's over. Decent but didn't leave an impression

A change of pace both in terms of attitude - this is The Antlers at their most relaxed/uplifting/optimistic - and style - not as adventurous as usual, but minimal doesn't equal simplistic, it's still not as straightforward as you may initially think.
Also, their most vocals focused album - and what a great job Peter Silberman does in that regard.

Beautiful work. Antlers are one of my go to bands for when I'm in the mood for something slow and pleasant.
