“Pink Noise” puts all of its weight into its choruses. Each chorus will be supported with layer after layer of instrumental flourish and vocal hook. The problem it’s not built up by anything. The verses are all made of these flat stop start lyrics and instrumentals. When the choruses do hit, they feel hollow and without weight. The exemption to this is “Got me” that has a strong enough baseline to get some momentum. Not terrible but without the necessary charisma for success.

Pop record of the summer. This is such a jam through and through. Great party album.
