Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.2/100, a mean average of 78.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.2.

Zappa is one of the great masters of composition and instrument, namely his guitar!

The instrumentation on this album is phenomenal with Zappa and the Mothers really showing off their prowess. The best example of this is the guitar which has so many amazing solos on this record and it completely dominates the album. This is then backed by some brilliant drum work and neat bass lines to create quite an accessible record by Zappa's standards. Every song is unique and provide something new to the album making this record never really get dull as you don't know what is coming next. Two of my favourite tracks are I'm The Slime and Zomby Woof just because they get lodged in my head after every listen. Usually when artists make accessible records they lose the edge and nuances that made them different in the first place but not Zappa as they are all still present and you can get your fix of crazy Zappa moments. Overall, another brilliant display adding to an already stacked discography by one of the true geniuses of the music industry.

Seems like a good starting point for Zappa. Really exceptional instrumentation, especially with the guitar and bass, and a healthy dose of the weird stuff that he was known for, but not so much that it's overbearing for a first-time listener. Great album.

Um dos sons mais palatáveis de Zappa e, nem por isso, menos brilhante!

This was the first Zappa I heard, and quite frankly, I didn't know what to make of it at the time. But after a short time, I really took to it, and it became my gateway to his more popular and more obscure works.

Discover music and rock, sometimes it's a way different. If rock wasn't discovered, music was still existed. If music was broken, that's why rocks came it up. This Apostrophe' broke music, that's why Over-nite Sensation came it in.
