Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 6% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.8/100, a mean average of 75.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.8.

Slowly made its way into my top 10 over the course of the past few years. I now view this album as nearly flawless, as it has changed the course of my mornings since I first discovered it. Nothing like playing this early in the morning while my coffee is brewing, or while driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway admiring the fog over the green mountain range.
Definitely my favourite album from Youth Lagoon. The albums gives a sense of nostalgia and I never get tired of playing it again.

Really sets up a soothing atmosphere, deserving of many repeat listens.
Plus ten points for being from Idaho. I wonder if he ever met the Leprechaun at the end of that rainbow. I can dig it.
Fine album. I prefer Wondrous Bughouse over this, however, for its Alice in Wonderland-esque feel.
Not an album that you could class as a top one hundred but a bit like say The Postal Service - very addictive and will get a lot of repeat plays.
Songs with a lot of melody that pleasantly drift and swell - a bit like a sedated MGMT
The track listing is wrong on this site.
Should be...
1. Posters
2. Cannons
3. Afternoon
4. 17
5. July
6. Daydream
7. Montana
8. The Hunt
Solid album also.
Quiet and reflective music might too monotonous. :)
