Garbage's best album since Version 2.o and their most politically outspoken record to date.

Garbage haven’t been relevant in my world for 20 years but the mostly high critical praise delivered for this album meant I simply had to check it out
The word I would describe it as would be underwhelming, yes the sharp political and social commentary is on point and clearly stands out as album highlight but it all ultimately feels too long and forced and is simply something I don’t feel compelled to return to having listened 3 times over
However I found genuine joy in the “Bonus Material” found on the expanded edition namely the non album single “No Horses”, a wonderful cover of Bowies “Starman” as well as the trio of Record Store Day singles “Because the Night” cover with Screaming Females (2013 !) , "Girls Talk and "Time Will Destroy Everything" (2014) and "The Chemicals" (2015)
