Very good follow-up to Nilsson Schmilsson, where Nilsson really lets his innate sense of comedic songwriting come out in full force on songs like Joy, You're Breakin' My Heart, and others. Also some very pretty stuff here (Remember Christmas) and other really good rockers (At My Front Door, Ambush). Enjoyable all the way through if you're willing to run with Nilsson's madness.
A classic recording from one of the finest singers of his generation.
Nice to hear from someone who's aware of this album and doesn't love it. It might tail off at the end a bit, but if you can appreciate Harry's angst-driven comedy, I would hardly say this album's uneven. A truly under-appreciated classic I believe.

At his best Nilsson wrote some of the best songs of the era, and had the voice to carry them, but records like Son of Schmilsson prove to be very uneven. "Remember (Christmas)" is a classic though.
