objectively many of these songs are pretty great, but somehow I don't like Nick Cave's strategy of moving to the UK and then pretending to be American. It smacks of a decline in creativity, as well as the sheer goofiness that the earlier records had. "The sidewalk regrets that we had to kill them" — Nick, you're from Caulfield, it's called a footpath.
