Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.6/100, a mean average of 77.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.4.

This album is Top 1 on my all-time list. Is there anything to add? Best album ever, and I don't say this lightly.
Well, there's something to add. I don't think this is an album that you can get at the first spin. You have to listen to it a few times if you want to understand it. When I first heard in 2011, I was already a Mutemath fan and I was kind of destabilized because it was very different from their 2 previous records. But when I finally got it, I realized how good it was and to this day, it is still my favorite Mutemath album, even though I like all of their work.
It's hard to describe the music, you really have to listen to it and do your job as a listener. But if you take the time the really listen to this album, you will surely understand why I think this is true genius.
I wasn't much into their earlier stuff, but my brother played me Quarantine and that was pretty much it. It took a while for some of the slower and instrumental songs to catch on, but with a few listens I came to understand that every song on this album is great.
These guys are one of the many reasons why indie rock is so great. They’ve released a total of three albums and each one of them has been awesome. This one is no different. The music is just great. Some cool electronic sounds thrown in, plus some straightforward rock and roll. Great vocals, great songs, great everything. The only thing that brought down this album was that not every song was amazing. Most were really good, one or two were just alright. Overall though, it’s a great album, not one you’ll be disappointed by.
Most fans have panned this album for not being enough like their first release but I find myself coming back to this album more often then their "classic" first album. This has a more rugged New Orleans live in the street and I cant help but fall in love with that kind of soulfulness
On principle this band sounds like a steroid version of The Strokes however as the album goes on the dance beat starts becoming predominant to generate something original and atractive, it still has its flows and after the first 5 or 6 songs it sounds a bit monotonous. All in all it is a fair album in general and lets face it I thought Foals sounded monotonous and now I can't get them off my playlists...
