Top 100 Greatest Music Albums ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:

AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.1/100, a mean average of 87.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.3/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 7.4.

Certainly one of the more diverse (by nation) & interesting 1 album/per artist charts I've seen. Personally, I found the quality of the top 100 albums to be too inconsistent (for a top 100 chart) ~ but I accept that you have unique tastes and are just being honest to those tastes.
I loved seeing The Easybeats & Silverchair representing Australian music.
Enjoyed the commentary - quirky & funny & engaging.
Interesting chart
Love how much prog you have on here! That Gandalf album is a rare psychedelic treat, it's so good!
Although totally different from my own chart – even regarding preference for albums by Stevie Wonder and George Clinton – this is a really interesting and thoughtful chart, one of the best I have seen here.
pretty sweet chart
good stuff!
Very interesting list. Contains many of my all time favs so I need to check out the rest. Good work!
"If I tell you that Serj, Daron & co. are among the greatest musical geniuses of our time, do you believe me?"
Any time of the day
yeah that's true! There are a bunch of albums that I want to check out on your list.
starting with "As Day Follows Night"
Love the irony on your Nirvana pick ;)
The Lamb is probably the album I've listened to the most in my life. Helluvachart!
